In other news...

Michael Jackson is still dead.

...

Nope that's about it. Apparently there's nothing else newsworthy to report today. Certainly not the rigged elections in Iran or the withdrawal of troops from Iraq or the myriad new ways that Washington is screwing up our country and sinking us even further into debt.

Just Michael Jackson still being dead.

You know Mass Media, I get that this is important to a lot of people, I get that the guy was incredible in his heyday and that there are messy legal battles regarding his estate looming in the future.

But don't you think blanket non-stop wall-to-wall coverage on all the major news networks and across all the front homepages on the web talking about how LA shut down two freeways to let the motorcade pass and how the private and public funeral is going off so smoothly and according to the mother's wishes with soundbites and commentary from everyone and anyone remotely connected to or touched by or inspired by Jackson and even a huge buttload of news anchors and reporters who have nothing to do with anything is a LITTLE excessive?

Please just... have the ceremony and put him in the ground and be done with it. Please. Don't squelch his reputation by overcovering this mess.

It's really, really tiring.

  • Mood: Annoyed
  • Listening to: "Love Story" Taylor Swift
  • Reading: fanfic
  • Watching: NOT the non-stop MJ coverage
  • Eating: Should be having lunch soon
  • Drinking: Milke

wow you must be an idiot dreamworks is owned by disney. next time before you tell someone their wrong look something up

--
=dantesgirl~You’ve been taking writing tips from Stephenie Meyer, haven’t you? Oh, you poor thing.
Dreamworks is not owned by Disney. As of February 2009 they have a distribution deal with Disney for six years and thirty pictures that begins in 2010 and perhaps that's what you're referring to, but it's not the same as direct ownership. Technically Dreamworks and its offshoot branch Dreamworks Animation (which is the studio behind Shrek and Kung Fu Panda and the like) is its own independant studio nowadays. Prior to being an independant, Dreamworks was owned and operated by Viacom and Paramount. Dreamworks Animation, as far as I'm aware, has always been distributing its animated features through Paramount until now.
